Working Principle
The working principle of a Vertical Air Cooler relies on a horizontal cross-flow design to achieve efficient heat transfer within a vertically oriented structure:
Top-Down Fluid Flow: The hot process fluid (such as oil, gas, or chemical media) enters through the inlet header at the very top of the unit and flows downward through the vertically arranged finned tubes.
Horizontal Airflow: Industrial axial fans, mounted on the side of the vertical structure, rotate to push or pull ambient cool air horizontally across the vertical tube bundle.
Cross-Flow Heat Exchange: As the cold air passes horizontally through the vertical fins, it strips heat away from the downward-flowing fluid.
Gravity-Assisted Outlet: The cooled fluid collects efficiently in the bottom header via gravity and exits the system, while the heated air is discharged horizontally out the opposite side.
