Closed Circuit Cooling Towers

Closed Circuit Cooling Towers

Welcome to the Cronx closed circuit cooling tower series, engineered for industries where process purity and operational uptime are critical. Designed to provide heavy-duty industrial heat dissipation while sealing out contaminants, our closed towers utilize robust spray systems and premium heat exchanger coils (available in HDG steel, SS304/316, or red copper) to maximize thermal performance.

From compact single-cell configurations to massive multi-cell industrial setups, we optimize every tower for low noise, compact footprint, and maximum thermal efficiency based on your local climate conditions.

The KFCN Series Hybrid Closed Circuit Cooling Tower combines the benefits of dry cooling and evaporative cooling in a single high-efficiency system. Through a finned pre-cooling heat exchanger located above the evaporative section, process fluid is partially cooled before entering the wet cooling stage.

The KCN Series Counterflow Closed Circuit Cooling Tower removes process heat through evaporative cooling. Heat from the process fluid circulating inside the coil is transferred to the external spray water, while an induced-draft fan discharges heat to the atmosphere through evaporation.

The KCH Series Parallel Flow Closed Circuit Cooling Tower is designed to remove process heat through evaporative cooling, combining spray water, airflow, and heat exchange coils to deliver highly efficient thermal performance.

The KCF Series Crossflow Closed Circuit Cooling Tower is engineered for efficient process cooling through evaporative heat rejection. Heat from the process fluid circulating inside the coil is transferred to the spray water and ultimately discharged to the atmosphere by the fan system.

The KWN/H Series Wastewater Closed Circuit Cooling Tower is purpose-built for cooling highly contaminated, solids-bearing, viscous, or fouling-prone process fluids. Unlike conventional cooling towers, it incorporates mechanically cleanable header boxes and straight-tube heat exchanger technology, allowing direct physical cleaning of heat transfer surfaces.

FAQ

Find Answers To Common Questions About Cronx Products, Customization, Delivery,
Installation, And Technical Support Services

  • What is the main benefit of a closed-circuit cooling tower?

It isolates the clean process fluid inside a sealed coil bundle, preventing it from contacting ambient air. This completely eliminates contamination, scaling, and fouling in your expensive core equipment (like furnaces or chillers).

  • Does a closed cooling tower use more water than an open tower?

No, it uses a dual-loop system. The internal clean loop has zero water loss. The external spray loop loses a small amount to evaporation, similar to an open tower, but overall water usage is tightly optimized.

  • Can I run glycol or oil inside the closed loop coils?

Yes. The closed-loop coils can handle water, water-glycol mixtures, hydraulic oils, and various other chemical process fluids safely.

  • How do you protect closed cooling tower coils from internal freezing?

We recommend adding an inhibited glycol solution to the internal loop. Alternatively, an automated remote sump tank can drain the spray water when the tower is idle.

  • What coil options do you provide for closed-circuit towers?

We offer hot-dip galvanized steel coils for standard industrial applications and Stainless Steel 304/316L coils for food-grade, chemical, or highly corrosive loops.
